First code

HealthyLiving: my first own website

The first website I coded with my own hands. Like a beginner's very first project: humble, but precious to me. The goal was a simple site where I could offer the PT and nutrition programs I'd prepared.

What I built

With Copilot's help, I coded a simple healthy-living website and shipped it with Firebase. On it I offered the PT (personal training) and nutrition programs I'd written myself. Until then I'd used ready-made platforms (Shopify, Hostinger); this was the first project where I touched the code itself.

First lessons (a small confession)

Honestly: back then I didn't know what responsive design was. So the site looked fine on a phone but broke on desktop. Like a beginner's first project, flaws and all, it was a real and instructive start.

A discovery: the power of GitHub

On this project I noticed something important: components like the calorie calculator big companies such as Macfit put on their sites can be found ready-made on GitHub and integrated into a site very easily. That was the moment I first truly grasped what open source is for.
