The e-commerce & dropshipping journey
After TÜBİTAK I wanted to build a digital business and a location-independent, online life. I set out with dropshipping training from Gürkan Zone; it became the period where I learned almost every side of building a business, but above all picked up copywriting and the fundamentals of social media.
Why e-commerce
When the TÜBİTAK process fell through, I knew one thing clearly: I wanted to build a digital business and a location-independent, online life. Dropshipping looked like the right school for that.
Training and sacrifices
To go in seriously, I took dropshipping training from Gürkan Zone (around $2,000). I set up a company in the UK and set aside a few thousand dollars for ads. To fund all of it I worked without sparing myself; I took on extra jobs, courier work included, to cover my ad budget and company costs. I believed in it, so I was willing to make the sacrifice.
What I learned
In a short time I touched almost every side of building a business: how to analyze competitor companies for e-commerce products, budget planning, general accounting, building websites with Shopify, and running Meta ads. Most importantly, I picked up copywriting and the core metrics of social media.
Why it wasn't for me
But the daily rhythm of dropshipping wasn't for me: finding products meant doing organic research by watching TikTok videos all day, and honestly I never enjoyed it. Over time, software came along to automate that, but by then I had already drifted away from e-commerce. In the end I realized this sector simply wasn't for me.
The bridge to social media
Even so, the most valuable thing this journey left me was copywriting and the fundamentals of social media; that was the real bridge. A few months later I turned my course fully toward social media.
